FAQ – frequently asked questions


How far is it to the water, and what about the distances to the neighboring caravans? Here we have collected answers to the questions we most often get about staying at Ly Outdoor Camp. If you don't find what you are looking for, you are always welcome to contact us - we are always happy to help.

Good to know as a guest at Ly Outdoor Camp

For cabins and glamping, 50% of the total price is paid upon booking and 50% 30 days before arrival. 
For all places, 100% payment is required in advance when booking.

Cancellation products can be purchased when booking.

Pitch, camper pitch, tent pitch:

  • Standard (195 DKK): 100% refund if cancelled no later than 30 days before arrival.
  • Plus (249 DKK): 100% refund if cancelled no later than 14 days before arrival.

Glamping and cabins:

  • Standard (495 DKK): 100% refund if cancelled no later than 30 days before arrival.
  • Plus (595 DKK): 100% refund if cancelled no later than 14 days before arrival. 

Cancellation products are per unit and the refund is exclusive of the price of the cancellation product.

 

Without cancellation product:

  • If cancelled more than 30 days before arrival, the booking amount will be refunded minus a 25% administration fee.
  • If cancelled less than 30 days before arrival, no refund will be given. Please refer to the guest's own travel insurance.

Pitches and own tent:
Check-in: From 14 p.m. 
Check out: latest by 11 am

Cabins and glamping: 
Check-in: From 15 p.m. 
Check out: latest by 10 am

NOTE! If you cannot check-in within our opening hours, please contact us. We will then figure out something regarding key collection. 

There must always be at least three meters between caravans, tents, etc. This is important in terms of fire safety and must always be observed.

It will be clear from the individual space description where it is possible to park a cart and the like.

Out of consideration for nature and the appearance of the site, it is not permitted to set up fencing, terraces, storage boxes, permanent drying racks or the like. A storage module is OK if it is connected to a trailer or tent and the site allows it. If you are in doubt, please ask :D

Windbreaks and dog enclosures should be minimized and must be temporary in the sense that they are only erected during the period when you are staying at the camp.

During high season it is possible to order breakfast bread from Lagkagehuset. Order and pay in the café and it will be ready for pick-up in the morning from 8 am. During low season we suggest that you pick up your breakfast bread from:

  • Rema 1000, Lyngbygade
  • Brandt Bread, Søtorvet
  • SuperBrugsen, Søtorvet
  • Momo, Nygade
  • Croissant, Market Square
  • Føtex, Square
  • The Cake House, Nørrevænget 34

With the camp's location close to town, it doesn't make sense for us to sell a lot of expensive dairy products that can be bought fresher and cheaper at grocery stores in the area. Instead, we have bicycles that you can borrow to take you to the various shopping opportunities not far from the camp.

It is also great to experience the city on the iron horse.

Remstrup Å, which is part of the Gudenå River – also known as the Silkeborg Lakes – can be seen from one corner of the camp. From here it is less than 100 meters to the water's edge, and the lake is always open for a dip.

Approximately 1,5 kilometers to the southwest is Almindsø with the bathing establishments Østre and Vestre Søbad. Almindsø is one of Denmark's cleanest lakes, and the facilities at the bathing establishments are new and child-friendly.

It is possible to rent bed linen and towels at the camp. Linen must be used in our cabins and glamping tents, and it must (preferably) be ordered in advance if you do not bring your own.

It is free to take a shower when you are an overnight guest at the camp. There are many bathrooms in the large service building. In the small service building by the cabin village there are family bathrooms. Here the rooms are larger so the whole family can bathe at the same time. 

No, there are others in town who are already experts in providing that service. But we can definitely recommend a trip to the Nord- or Vesterskoven forest on a mountain bike. It's so cool. Read more about activities, where there is also a link to bicycle rental.

At our neighbors at Museum Jorn you can rent electric bicycles. It is possible to borrow them for free when purchasing an admission ticket, and they can be rented/borrowed between 10 am and 16 pm. They have six electric bicycles and one cargo bicycle. Read more here.

We do not have any charging stations at the camp (yet), but there are Tesla charging stations at Gl. Skovridergaard Hotel & Conference Center and Vejlsøhus Hotel and Conference Center just around the corner. Find more charging stations here.

Electric car batteries are not allowed to be charged at the campsite's pitches and cabins.

Dogs that are not a nuisance are welcome on the site. They must always be on a leash and walked outside the site. Please pick up any litter.

Dog fencing should be minimized and must be temporary in the sense that it is only set up during the period when you are staying at the camp.

There is a washing machine and dryer available. The machines accept all coins.

At the camp we have seven canoes that can be rented in the café. It costs 150 DKK per hour - and 500 DKK for the whole day (three hours and more).

We also have a Kayak food at the camp, from where you can rent kayaks, tandem kayaks and SUP boards. It is a requirement that you have at least a life jacket for everyone on board and on SUP boards they must be worn during the activity. Read more about our conditions for renting canoes and boards.

There is a campfire site on the common area that you can use. Free firewood is available at the campfire site.

If there are signs posted prohibiting burning, fires may not be lit. 

There is a waste sorting station at the large service building. Please follow the signs. 

It is possible to empty at the large service building. 

We have it in the café and in the Community House. 

There is no Wi-Fi on the site, but there is good coverage, so you can use the data included in your mobile subscription. 

Maximum 10 km/h. Please limit driving at the camp.

Driving is only allowed between 6:30 AM and 11:00 PM out of consideration for your fellow guests.
